"International Teaching Styles:
What We Can Learn from Them
"
This forum will offer a glimpse into international piano teaching methods. Irina Gelman will cover the Russian piano school, Lilit Karapetian will speak on her training in Armenia, Mary Bradley will offer insights on the exam system in England, as well as the Canadian and Australian systems, and Elizabeth Landman, joined by Eleanor McLaughlin, will focus on the philosophy and nature of Suzuki pedagogy. We welcome contributions from you, our members, who experienced piano training in other cultures to this interchange of ideas.

"Teaching Popular Music and Jazz "
Unlock the mystery of how to approach teaching popular or jazz music to your students. Most traditionally trained musicians already have the knowledge needed to approach these related styles of music but are unsure where to begin. Learn how to apply and teach traditional keyboard harmony in playing popular music and jazz standards. Colleen Campbell and Janice Zaganjori will guide us through the mysteries of this “other” music.
